SCBT Donates $2,500 To Colleton County Arts Council
COLUMBIA, SC - SCBT announced today that it will make a $2,500 donation to the Colleton County Arts Council for their After School and Colleton Children’s Theatre programs.
The presentation will be made at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1 at South Carolina Bank and Trust (SCBT) located at 520 South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro, South Carolina.
The After School program provides youth with a snack, a drink and two hours of instruction per day. At the end of the year, the youth participate in an Open House Gallery, where they showcase their artwork for the public and perform a musical theatre piece. Colleton Children’s Theatre produces two plays a year. Each play on average consists of 65 performers and 20 backstage assistants. The children who act in the plays are 6 to 18 years of age. The Colleton Children’s Theatre recently performed Disney’s Aristocats and will soon be working on the musical, Annie.
"We are excited to be a part of these worthwhile programs that do so much to help the youth of Colleton County," said Lee Petrolawicz, senior vice president and area executive, SCBT Walterboro. "We believe that children who attend these programs will be better positioned to succeed in school and in life."
Christy Branham, executive director, Colleton County Arts Council said "We are so appreciative to SCBT for their support of the CCAC art programs. Donations like this make our art programs possible. We are reaching out to the children in our community and we are enthusiastic about the CCAC's upcoming programs and events."
