Bank of Anderson & Seneca National Bank Getting a New Look

(ANDERSON/SENECA)   Bank of Anderson and Seneca National Bank customers will soon see a new look when they visit the branch.  Over the weekend of June 9th, Bank of Anderson signs will change to South Carolina Bank and Trust (SCBT) as a Anderson Main bank new SCBT signresult of the merger which was completed on April 24, 2012.  Seneca National Bank will change over the weekend of July 14th.

“Since we will be changing our logo, customers will receive new debit cards and checks, but there is one thing that won’t change – that’s the great service.” said Jimmy Lindsey, SCBT market president for Seneca and Anderson.  “In addition to the new name, our customers can now enjoy the convenience of more locations with a statewide banking network.”

The Peoples National Bank’s five locations in Easley, Pickens, Greenville and Powdersville unveiled their new signage on Saturday, May 18th and now operate as branches of SCBT. Bank of Anderson’s two locations will begin operating as SCBT on Monday, June 11th and Seneca National Bank will make the change on Monday, July 16th.

SCBT has a network of 53 full-service locations in 19 South Carolina counties throughout the state.  In addition to the general banking services which include checking, savings, mortgage, business services and wealth management, SCBT will also offer trust services through its Wealth Management Group.

“The signage change makes it easier for our customers to identify our statewide branch network and allows us to continue to build the SCBT brand,” said Greg Lapointe, upstate banking group president.  “We want to make it as convenient as possible to bank with us along the I-85 corridor and we are delighted to have the Bank of Anderson and Seneca National Bank employees join our team.”

The merger with Peoples Bancorporation, Inc. is SCBT’s first presence in this area of the Upstate.  Founded in 1933, SCBT was started in the midst of the Great Depression and starting in this turbulent economic environment gave SCBT a great foundation to thrive in the current economic downturn.  When it comes to customers, the principles of providing fast, friendly and accurate service, and building deep and lasting relationships has always been the primary focus.  Peoples had a very similar mission, which made the cultures of our two companies a perfect fit.

“Basically, the change for customers is minimal.  You’ll still see the same friendly faces that you normally see when you visit the branch,” said Lindsey.

During the upcoming weeks, the former Bank of Anderson and Seneca National Bank branches will be hosting customer appreciation days to celebrate their new name.  Please visit or contact your local office for specific dates and times.
