David Swofford Joins SCBT as Vice President
South Carolina Bank and Trust announced that David Swofford has been named vice president and mortgage loan officer for the bank’s Spartanburg market.
With over eight years in the banking industry, Swofford’s primary responsibility will be residential lending and relationship management. Prior to joining SCBT, Swofford worked as a mortgage loan consultant with a large regional bank.
“We are fortunate to have a talented mortgage banker like David as part of our Spartanburg team,” said Jay Reagan, SCBT Spartanburg city executive.
“The addition of a local mortgage banker is another step forward in our commitment to full-service banking in Spartanburg,” said Bill Coker, SCBT Wealth Management Group senior relationship manager.
A native of Spartanburg, Swofford earned his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of South Carolina.

Active in church, civic organizations and the community, Swofford serves as a board member of Spartanburg Young Professionals and as a council volunteer at United Way of Piedmont. Swofford, his wife Meghann and son William are members of First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg.
