On Friday, July 29, 2011, SCBT entered into an agreement with the FDIC to assume all deposits and certain other liabilities and assets of BankMeridian, N.A.

As a valued customer of BankMeridian, we want you to know that your money is safe, and you can continue banking with us as you normally would. Please allow us to answer any questions you may have about your account(s) with us.

Is my money safe?

Yes. All deposits are safe. No one lost any money at BankMeridian.

What do I need to do?

You should continue banking with BankMeridian as you normally would.

  • Continue to use your checks, ATM cards and debit cards.
  • All automatic drafts and direct deposits, including Social Security checks, will continue as usual.
  • Online Banking services will remain available.
  • Loan payments should be sent to the same address.
